Review copies off your queue, without the render queue.

silken makes your review copies, screeners, dubbing work copies and platform files from the master in your own storage and back next to it. Your render farm stays on the creative work, and you pay per delivered minute of video, with no input fee and never per gigabyte.

The business case

What changes for your business.

  1. Keep review work moving

The routine copies go to us in bulk, with capacity ready for a whole library, when your farm is full before a deadline.

When it matters A delivery window, awards season, a library deal.

  2. HDR, 4K and advanced colour, done right

HDR and 4K masters keep their look in every copy, including standard review versions your colourist judges.

When it matters An HDR project; remote review.

  3. The same result every time

One setup per type of copy, so every title comes out the same way, and your QC sees the pass rate before you commit.

When it matters Redeliveries; a new platform specification.

How it plugs in

Nothing to replace.

  2. your media system
  3. silken
  4. copies next to the master
  5. your review, QC and delivery

The everyday files

The servicing renders, off your render farm.

Your finishing suite makes the master. silken takes the repetitive servicing renders around it, one job spec per deliverable type, and your MAM hears when each copy lands. Keep Resolve and your transcoder for the creative and mastering work.

Specs

An SDR version that follows your trim.

Retail specs ask for an SDR master that differs from the HDR one only in colour space, and that is your colourist's trim. Send the trim and the SDR copies are made from it; when the master carries trim metadata, silken uses it. Every setting is exposed so your colourist signs off the result against the grade.

HDR to SDR options

“The only acceptable difference between the SDR and HDR mezzanine file is the colorspace.”

Recipes

Save the recipe once per show.

A profile and its tuning are saved on your account. Every request for the show names the recipe, so episode 9 is made exactly like episode 1, whoever submits it.

API reference

  • Private by construction. Pre-release masters are read from your storage through signed URLs, and every copy is written back there.
  • Your naming. Outputs land under the prefix and file names your facility already uses.
  • Through your QC. Copies are judged on your own QC, the same as any other vendor's renders.

Questions

Do pre-release masters stay private?

Yes. Masters are read from your own storage through signed URLs and every output is written back there.

Can we reuse the same settings on every job?

Yes. Save one job spec per deliverable type and send it with every request, so every screener and proxy for a show is made the same way.

Does the SDR version follow our trim?

Yes. Send the colourist’s SDR trim and the SDR copies are made from it; silken reads the dynamic metadata already in a master to make the SDR version. Every setting is exposed for your colourist to sign off.
